Shanghai Knights (2003)

Director: David Dobkin
Plot: When a Chinese rebel murders Chon's estranged father and escapes to England, Chon and Roy make their way to London with revenge on their minds.

Genre: Action/Adventure/Comedy
Awards: -
Runtime: 114min
Rating: PG for action violence and sexual content.

I believe this has more laughs and action than its prequel, Shanghai Noon (which I didn't bother to watch). Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are a not-too-bad pairing, but definitely not as effective as Chan and Chris Tucker in the more successful Rush Hour series.

Very often, people do not care about the storyline when they watch such movies. They go there to laugh, and be 'entertained' by the action sequences. In that aspect, Shanghai Knights manages to pass (but not with flying colors). But this action comedy formula has turned cliche over the past couple of years. Shanghai Knights unfortunately gets stale with repeated viewings.

SCORE: 6/10
